The late Manfred McCormick who died on Tuesday 28th April after a short illness was finally laid to rest yesterday at the Kissy Road Cemetery after a well attended funeral service at the St Philip’s Church at Patton Street in Freetown. Before the church service, there was a laying out ceremony at the Atlantic Hall of the National Stadium where tributes from different groups like the football family, the Regent Olympic football club and host of others were paid.
The late man was one time chairman of Regent Olympics Football Club and he ensured Regent Olympic survives up to this time by adding great value to the team and also by inspiring the players to victory during matches by his sweet words of Encouragement. The Late man was also the former Vice President of the Western Area Football Association (WAFA) and until his death he was an ex-official of WAFA. The late man attended the Sierra Leone Grammar School.
