Sierra Leone: Early childhood education is the foundation for every child to help them sail smoothly as they pursue further education.
It is for this reason the Ministry of Basic Senior, Secondary Education (MBSSE) is focusing on establishing Pre-Primary schools across the Country to encourage parents to send their children at an early age in order for the child to be rooted in solid ground. Most recently, one of the mobile companies, Orange partnered with the ministry to construct Pre-Primary schools in specific locations across the country, and pupils of Saint Michael’s pre-primary at Kogbotuma, Moyamba District are beneficiaries of a new school.
Both officials from the MBSSE and Orange graced the occasion of the formal handing over of the new pre-primary education facility.
District officials including the Paramount Chief and Member of Parliament commended Orange for making good on their corporate responsibility in supporting the MBSSE to establish nursery schools which will give thousands the opportunity within and around the chiefdom to access learning at an early age.
