One of the Africa teams that will participate in this year City of Las Vegas Mayor’s cup international youth soccer showcase 2011, Mount Aureole SLIFA of Sierra Leone has been placed in group 7 ahead of the tournament which has been slated for the 18-21 of next month in Las Vegas, United States.
They have been placed alongside Atlas Las Vegas (NV), Sparta United 93 Premier (UT) and North Cal Elite (CAN)
Mount Aureole will play their first match on the 19th February 2011 at 12;40pm and on the same day in the evening at 6.00pm they will play their second match against Sparta United 93 Premier (UT)
Their last match in the group will be played on the following day 20th February against Atlas Las Vegas (NV). Two teams are expected to qualify in each group of 8 with four teams in each group.
According to the information all games will be played on the world class facilities recently constructed by the city of Las Vegas, Bettye Wilson, Kellogg-Zaher, Ed Fountain, Freedom Park&Centeninal Hills Soccer Complexes and all teams are guaranteed four 60 minutes games.
The Other Africa team that is expected to participate in the tournament is Bakau United of the Gambia who have been placed in group 4 alongside Yuma United 93 Heat (AZ), Colorado Rapids (CO) and Milan 93(CAN)
Speaking to Awoko Sports after the draw the head coach of Mount Aureole SLIFA John Victor Konneh said they have now known their opponents ahead of the tournament which is very good for the team.
Their technical team he said is now doing everything possible to have video clips to see the strength of there opponents but for preparation the team is in good shape for the tournament as their main aim is to win the tournament even though it is not going to easy but as a team they have what it takes to win the tournament.
