Marie Stopes Society has officially opened another clinic in Kenema. It also has clinics in Freetown, Bo and Kono.
In her contribution Dr Yvonne Harding told her audience that, “the aim of Marie Stopes Sierra Leone is to extend quality reproductive health care services in the entire district”.
She disclosed that, “[the institution] is part of the global network partnership known as Marie Stopes International UK.
Marie Stopes will serve all your sexual and reproductive health needs that will cover comprehensive family planning, pregnancy crises, counseling and prevention of mother to child transmission, general medical care, laboratory services, voluntary counseling and pregnancy tests”.
The medical superintendent at the government hospital, Dr Philip Koroma who chaired the occasion, expressed happiness about the presence of the Marie Stopes clinic in Kenema, saying that they were there to complement the hospital’s effort.
He called on all to inform their people in the district about the clinic, and appealed to his colleagues to always give priority to life instead of money.
On behalf of the Kenema District Council the chief administrator, Charlie Patrick Kallon, expressed happiness about the existence of the Marie Stopes Society clinic in Kenema district. He also pledged the council’s fullest support to the clinic.
