A communiqué has been signed by Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia bringing to life the Mano River student union.
This is the first official union that is bringing students from the three countries together including Ivory Coast which is subscribing to the movement for the first time.
Speaking to the press in Kenema, the National Union of Sierra Leone Student (NUSS) Alex Bonafa says the union will give opportunity to the students to put into play social, economic and security challenges of their various countries and prepare to address them through dialogue with their leaders. He says the four countries in the Mano River basin Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Ivory Coast have similar challenges that they need to address concretely.  Bonafa says he hopes to serve as intermediary between the government and the people a he says has already began in Liberia.
