The people of Manboma community in the Lower Bambara Chiefdom in Kenema District have started a self help project by constructing a five classroom primary school building in Mamboma Town.
The Town Chief of Mamboma Vandi Momoh described the school rehabilitation project as their post war community development scheme supervised by authorities with support from those in the grassroots to make their settlement fit for human habitation.
Chief Momoh revealed that the school rehabilitation project is an initiative designed by them to address the problems pupils and their teachers have experienced in the past and to underline the respect they have for education as a tool for national and community development.
The Town Chief also paid special tribute to both men and women of Mamboma Town for their commitment towards the construction of the school which he said has helped to actualize the dream of their community.
He also thanked Chief Aruna Sheriff of Nongowa Chiefdom for his contribution towards the project and called on other Chiefs, the Kenema District Council (KDC) and humanitarian organisations operating in the District to help them realize their development aspiration for a better Sierra Leone.
