Twenty-two years old Fomba Moinama of Kpatorhun village in Kangama in the Gorama Mende chiefdom, Kono district, is at present being hospitalized at the government hospital in kenema city.
Speaking to Awoko from his hospital bed, Moinama explained that it was on Sunday morning at around 7:30 when he took his cutlass and kicked off for his swamp.
He said on his way after leaving the main highway he got the call of nature, so he entered into the bush. While he was answering nature’s call, he said some body shot him in his right side.
Mr Moinama narrated that he then shouted and ran away from the spot towards his village, while the person who shot him ran into the bush.
Few yards from the spot where he was shot, he continued, he came across one madam Baindu Kutie and explained to her while lying on the ground.
Madam Baindu them rushed to a nearby place just at the edge of the bush and called one Ibrahim and his colleague who were in the bush to come to the victim’s rescue. They then took him to Kangama.
“Then one of my brothers took me on a motorbike to the Tongo police station.
There we were given a document to take to the government hospital in kenema. My brother then brought me directly to the hospital where I have since been admitted,” he revealed.
The police are now investigating the matter.
