Musa Foday (25) of Kenema city has made his last appearance before Magistrate Kumba Kamanda in the magistrate court in Kenema city.
According to the prosecutor PC 4938 Lawundeh Thomas, the accused person Musa Foday on Thursday August 20th 2009 at Golahun village in the Lower Bambara
Chiefdom in Kenema district stole a large quantity of dried cocoa beans valued at Le66,000 property of Musa Ketaday of the same village.
He was then charged with the offence of larceny contrary to section 2 of the larceny Act of 1916.
He was found guilty to the offence and was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment.
In the same Magistrate Court, 45 year old Aruna Torbah of Konjor village in the Lower Bambara chiefdom in the Kenema district made a similar appearance before magistrate Komba Kamanada on the charge of unlawful carnal knowledge. According to the particulars of offence the accused Aruna Torbah on the 16th July this year at the same Konjor village unlawfully carnally abused a girl under the age of 12 years. The accused was then charged with the offence of unlawful carnal knowledge contrary to section 7 Cap 31 of the Prevention of cruelty to children’s Act of the laws of Sierra Leone of
1960 as amended. This matter has been committed to high court in Kenema for trial and it was prosecuted by Sergent 3643 Ted A.M. of the police division in Kenema.
