An accused person, Bockarie Brima, who identified himself as a farmer at Largor village in the Nongowa Chiefdom, Kenema District, has made his last appearance before presiding Magistrate, Alfred.S.Fidawi, in Kenema City.
According to the Prosecutor, Sergeant 1986 Massaquoi D.M attached to the Kenema Police Division, Bockarie Brima sometime in June this year at Largo village in Nongowa Chiefdom just after the E-shai prayer went into the Mosque and stole one holy Quran, a clock and a lamp and also defecated in the mosque.
He was later arrested with the items and was arraigned in court on two count charges; one for stealing mosque items and the other for defecating inside the mosque.
He pleaded guilty to the two-count charge and was fined one million Leones or face a year’s sentence for count one and a fine of 250 thousand Leones for count two or face a three months sentence.
