Makeni, SIERRA LEONE – Apex Multimedia, a growing Makeni based Multimedia company in collaboration with Kivas Pub on the Azzolini high-way has unveiled weekly free film screening for Makenians and others.
This development comes after both firms entered into a partnership desired to revive the dying film culture in the populated city while keeping youths among others engaged from the dangers of bad influences or by their peers.
Last Sunday, the project was launched with a record attendance that watched “the woman king” and deliberated on the movie for over three hours at the premises of Kivas pub where other movies will be screened every other Sunday from 5:00pm to 9:00am, both firms have confirmed.
The deal according to Apex Multimedia’s Film Expert and Trainer Nick Sanderson was inspired by the desire of their management to reactivate the culture of movie screening in cinemas by way of increasing accessibility of film knowledge to the residents of Makeni and beyond which will help them become key players in the movie industry in the country eventually.
He said: “Our company-(Apex Multimedia) believes education is a basic necessity and a right for everyone hence must be made accessible, which is why we’re offering free movie education to the people of Makeni and its surrounding for a start as part of fulfilling our corporate social responsibility and we’re super proud of the management of Kivas Pub for partnering with us to revive the dying movie culture in the municipality once famous for its love for cinema.
On his part, Sheku Gibril Kamara alias “Vava-Voom” the Proprietor of Kivas Pub told Awoko Newspaper that he felt gratified to have entered into such a partnership with Apex Multimedia that is aimed at being a platform to unify, inspire and give back to the Makeni community.
