Saidu Bah (27) of Samai Town Section, Kenema has been committed to the High Court in Kenema after he made his last appearance in Magistrate Court no. 2 before presiding Magistrate Joseph Tobi on one court charge of rape contrary to Section 6 of the Sexual Offences Act no. 12 of 2012 as amended by Section 2 of sub Section (III) of the Sexual Offences Act no. 8 of 2019.
The particulars of offence said Bah on Saturday 11th July 2020 at Tipper Road, Samai Town Section, Nongowa Chiefdom in Kenema had unlawful sexual intercourse with Salaymatu Jalloh in her bedroom, both ignoring the child that was in the room. The child later reported to the father what the mother had done in the room, which the woman admitted to her husband.
The husband then reported the matter to court for further investigation. The accused was granted Le50 million bail with two sureties having proof of ID who must reside in the court’s jurisdiction, and be approved by the court.
The matter was prosecuted by Inspector Aiah Mafinda Teh of the Legal Justice and Support Department of the Kenema Police Division.
