In a move to sensitize and educate the Sierra Leonean public on the implementation of the Comprehensive Africa Agricultural Development Programme in the country the Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Food Security in collaboration with the Food and Agricultural Organization will hold a two day sensitization meeting on CAADP with stakeholders in the three regional headquarters of Bo, Makeni and Kenema.
The meetings will take place simultaneously in the three regional headquarters on Saturday and Sunday.
Speaking to Awoko press the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, Alusine Kamara disclosed that the Freetown delegation will comprise officials from MAFFS, FAO and the CAADP sensitization committee.
He went further to explain that the meetings will target farmers, Parliamentarians, Councilors, Civil Society Organizations, the private sector and the media. Alusine Kamara said that similar meetings have already been successfully held in the Western Area.
The PRO told Awoko press that if the country is to attain food security everybody has to come onboard and this could only be achieved with a massive public sensitization that cuts across the country.
