The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Sierra Leone has ended its seventh Biennial Assembly Conference at the Government Secondary School Campus along Combema Road in Kenema city on the theme “Rise Up and Walk” from the book of Acts of the Apostles Chapter 3 verse 6.
In his statement the Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran church Sierra Leone Bishop Tom Barnett revealed that the church was founded in 1988 in Sierra Leone by Sierra Leoneans with the aim of propagating the gospel and to also embark on infrastructural development in the country.
Bishop Barnett says the nation has embarked on developmental activities especially in the area of agriculture noting that the Lutheran World Service (LWS) is implementing their developmental programs nation wide.
He admonished members of the church not to separate them from the art of serving God, adding leadership comes from God, and called on all to remain as God fearing people.
In his contribution the National Superintendent of the Western church Sierra Leone Usman Fornah maintained that the success of the Assembly in Kenema lies in the hands of the delegates.
Rev. Fornah maintained that Christians should change their attitude in this country if the church and the nation are to develop for the interest of all and encouraged them to act positively in making the assembly a successful one.
