“I am here to develop Lumley and improve the living standard of the people if we help one another” these were the exact words of Donald Koroma of ward 393 Lumley grass field contesting under the SLPP for the July 5, Local Council Election.
He finally received his final endorsement from the people he wants to represent at ward 393 in the Western part of the city for the Local Government Council, due to his wealth of experience in education and community development and his approach towards the rapid development of his constituency.
The endorsement came as a result of the commitment, honesty and dedication shown by Donald Koroma who has been a resident of Lumley grass field for decades, and had contributed immensely to the development of the Lumley Community.
Party stalwarts and ordinary supporters of the councilor including family members dressed in Green with hand bills yesterday converged at the Lumley grass field to officially commence and also lead to the end of the campaign for the Local Council Election so as to solicit votes for Donald Koroma on July 5.
Donald Koroma called on his supporters to vote for him for the rapid development of Lumley and its environs, with capacity building programs for youths and also create job opportunities for competent individual’s resident at ward 393 if he wins.
He also spoke about his past achievements in the ward that he contributed morally and financially for the implementation of the project, which include the construction of the Lumley Community Center and the Regent Road Market which has been very useful to the economic growth of the society.
He also spoke about his role as senior teacher at the Services Secondary School for over a decade and noted that, so many students have passed through his hands and are now occupying various positions in the country and also worked for CARE International.
Donald Koroma added that, the community needs a vibrant and articulate leader that can help develop the community with the active participation of residents at ward level and also able to solicit the required support for rapid development.
Mr. Koroma promised to support women and youths to become self reliant and embark on sustainable development programs for the community with support from the Central Government and Development partners.
