Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – Luawa Football FC has announced the departure of Coach Sebastian Bowles after eight months at the helm, by mutual consent. Affectionately known as Coach Seb, Bowles leaves behind a legacy of significant contributions to the club’s transformation during his tenure.
In a statement released by Luawa FC, it was revealed that Bowles’ departure is due to safety concerns following an assault he experienced. Despite efforts to reassure his family of his security, both Bowles and his family feel it is no longer safe for him to continue with the club.
The club expressed gratitude to Coach Seb for his time and dedication, wishing him the very best in his future endeavours. They emphasized that Bowles will always hold a special place in the club’s history as they continue to build a unique football development program in Sierra Leone.
Following Bowles’ departure, Assistant Coach Sillah will assume the role of head coach, taking over the reins of the club’s leadership. Luawa FC expressed confidence in Coach Sillah’s abilities to continue the club’s progress and maintain its trajectory of growth and success. BT/9/5/2024
