The 2007 National Primary School Examinations (NPSE) results for Port Loko, which comprises Kaffu Bullom and Lokomasama chiefdoms, have been collated.
A total of 2,646 pupils sat to the examinations of which Kaffu Bullom sent 1,649 candidates with 1,098 clear passes, while Lokomasama sent in 997 candidates and had 766 passes.
Out of the 96 schools in both chiefdoms Try Tikaran, a private school at Tintafor Lungi, and SLC at Pepel has a 100% passes each.
The inspector of schools, James L Koroma, has confirmed that Hawa U Rogers of St Augustine Primary School at Tintafor, whose aggregate is 362, has the best result for this year in the region.
Apart from the schools in Kaffu Bullom, which are said to have performed well, those in Lokomasama did not do so well due to a limited number of trained and qualified teachers.
