Gloucester village head Frederick Hanciles and Service Delivery Monitor Agnes Labor on Monday 1st February 2021 submitted a report calling for an investigation of nurses alleged to have been abandoning their night duties at the Gloucester Health Centre.
The report was submitted to the Sister-in-Charge Esther Samura, for disciplinary action at the District Health Management Team Office at Devil Hole in Freetown.
Yesterday Tuesday 2nd February 2021, Ms Labor disclosed that because of the ongoing investigations, nurses on night shift have started reporting for duty.
She also disclosed that the perennial issue/problem of water at the health centre will be soon addressed.
The village head disclosed that the “next focus will soon be on those that are delivering pregnant women at home. Just after our proposed general community meeting on the 14th of this month, the bylaw will start clamping down on those that are engaging in such.”
He also encouraged locals to use the health centre and inform local authorities if they are faced with any challenge.
