Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – Alimamy Kargbo, widely known as Limoh from the New Vibration Empire (NVE), is carving out a promising presence in Sierra Leone’s dynamic music landscape. Born on March 7, 2000, to parents hailing from Sella Limba Chiefdom in Kamakwie, Limoh’s journey into music mirrors resilience and unwavering determination.
Despite encountering challenges, including financial constraints, Limoh pursued his education while nurturing his passion for music. He attended schools in Freetown, displaying remarkable proficiency in subjects beyond English.
A multifaceted individual, Limoh engages in tricycle and motorcycle riding, Santex, and Mastic painting to support himself. Amid these diverse endeavours, his commitment to music remains steadfast, fuelled by innate talent and the encouragement of his family and listeners.
Specializing in Afrobeat rap, Limoh’s musical prowess shines through his solo track “Make So,” recorded at Q-Mix studio, showcasing a deep affinity for the genre. Since joining NVE in 2021, he has matured both artistically and professionally, recognizing the significance of collaboration and effective management in the music industry.
Currently, Limoh is gearing up for the release of his video single “Hope,” scheduled for February 2024. The song encapsulates themes of resilience and determination, echoing his personal journey and aspirations for success. Moreover, Limoh advocates for the advancement of Sierra Leone’s music industry, emphasizing the need for enhanced production, promotion, education, and engineering.
In his vision for the future, he underscores the importance of local support and recognition for Sierra Leonean artists. Limoh calls for the establishment of music schools and increased opportunities for emerging talents, alongside a greater appreciation and promotion of Sierra Leonean music both locally and internationally.
