Limkokwing University of Creative Technology student representatives have written an open letter to President Julius Maada Bio calling on the government to pay their tuition grants to Limkokwing University. “This situation has left us in total dismay as to when we’ll resume,” the students pointed out. The students pointed out that the 2019-2020 academic year should have resumed since 4th November 2019, but registration for grantees was postponed, and registration for government grantee students has not been scheduled. On the other hand registration for privately-funded students will start from 13 to 15th January 2020. The Minister of Information, Mohamed Swarray, said he will discuss the grant issues with the Minister of Higher Education. The grants to individual students, since the inception of the University in 2016, are between $2,500 and $3,000 USD per academic year.
