34 year-old Fatu Lansana of Taninahun village in the Kpeje Bongre chiefdom in the Kailahun district met her sudden death on Monday afternoon this week when she went to her farm to conduct her usual weeding exercise.
According to an eye witness Gloria Brima who was at the scene of the accident, she told Awoko that the deceased and her colleagues were weeding in her farm when it started raining.
The rain she said was so intense that some of her colleagues had to go to the hut while she and few others remained in the field.
Unfortunately for her, thunder and lighting struck, killing her on the spot and also damaging some palm trees on the farm.
The corpse was then taken to the village where she has been laid to rest.
This incident is now the talk of the town in the chiefdom as some people have now attributed the thunder incident to some other traditional belief.
