Sierra Leone’s veteran goalkeeper of Old Edwardians Football Club and Leone Stars fame who also played cricket for Sierra Leone, Patrick Dangawali, has called for the best candidate to be allowed to win the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) elective congress.
He said they should give everybody the chance and opportunity to contest so at the end everybody will accept the result for the good of the game.
In an interview with Awoko, he opined that the behaviour manifested by the SLFA Appeal Committee in disqualifying the other candidates does not only “disintegrate their integrity to run the committee to a mediocrity it exacerbated immaturity and lack of professional ethic in its entirety.”
He appealed to the National Sports Authority (NSA) to make sure they give every candidate the fair chance to take part in the election by also monitoring the process.
Dangawali revealed that as a former footballer he is very sure that Mohamed Kallon’s leadership can boost soccer and will quicken the spirit of dormancy in the entire association.
“He has the ability to affect a wind of change for the better,” he added.
