The Leadership Empowerment and Development Global an international consultancy and leadership development organization geared towards the growth and empowerment of Godly leaders of character and influence has yesterday handed over a forty foot container of medical items to the Ministry of Health and Sanitation to boost the government’s call to Free Health Care.
The program which took place at the central medical stores attracted staff from the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, representatives from the PCMH, officials from the medical stores and cross section of journalists. Some of the items in the container were bed linens and towels, gloves(non sterile and sterile), goggles, protective, masks, surgical, baby bottle and baby equipment, diapers and wipes and mattresses to name but just a few.
Handing over the keys of the container Mr. Donald Oman who is the consultant for the project said that this is the second shipment that their organization is donating to the free health care project, and hoped that the items will be used for its intended purpose.
Responding to the handing over statement the Minister of Health and Sanitation Zainab Bangura said that the equipment are necessary because the hospitals lack most of them. She also said that no matter how trained a doctor is if he does not have the right equipment to do his job he or she cannot perform well. In that light she thanked Mr. Donald Osman for their kind gesture as they made a similar donation last year. She went further to say that the Ola During Children’s Hospital and PCMH will be changed to a teaching hospital.
The program ended with the sharing of the packing list.
