Guaranty Trust Bank, a leading financial services provider in the country, recently made a donation of Le 10,000,000 to the Voice of the Handicapped Radio Station, F.M 96.2.
This contribution is part of the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility and is aimed at boosting the broadcast coverage of the radio station with the acquisition of an FM transmitter and antennae.
The Voice of the Handicapped 96.2 FM is an independent medium, commissioned in 1996, which caters to the listening needs of different shades of listeners- disabled and non-disabled, within Freetown and other areas in the country.
The C.E.O of the radio station, James Taiwo Cullen stated that the focus of the station is aimed at making productive contributions to national development.
He expressed his appreciation to the bank for it’s kind gesture and also for its continuous contribution towards nation-building.
Giving the donation to the radio station on behalf of Guaranty Trust Bank, the Unit Head of Corporate Affairs, Aminata Kasim-Carew emphasized that the bank is committed to its Corporate Social Responsibility and supporting such projects is part of its aim to empower small scale businesses in the country. She went further to state that “at Guaranty Trust Bank, our CSR policy is fully integrated into our business model and is embedded in the Bank’s core values. It is our commitment to promoting our social value that compels us to seek the common good within all communities in which we operate”.
