Thirty-three million Leones were at stake as Tigo started its new promotion: ‘Tigo Lotto,’ launched last week followed by its maiden draw at the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Station (SLBS) over the weekend.
After the draw, three subscribers emerged winners. They are Olivet Macaulay, Cecilia Williams and Nafisatu Mansaray.
At a cheque presentation at Tigo’s head office on Thursday, the three winners received Le 1million open cheque each.
In his welcome address, Tigo Yusif Kalil disclosed that Tigo had promotions throughout the year and urged subscribers to stick to the network.
Tigo’s Value Added Service (VAS) officer, Choe Miller, threw light on the Tigo lottery game. He said, “when you text LOTTO you will receive a text message: ‘Thank you for playing Tigo lottery you have accumulated 1 ticket’ i.e. if you have only played once,” he said.
Before presenting the cheque, Tigo’s Media Coordinator Jariatu Bah explained that, “Tigo LOTTO is a new promotion for customers to subscribe to our Value Added Service through the Short Message System (SMS).”She said, “Le 3 million Leones have gone and it
now remains Le 30 million to go.” Explaining about what she would do with her unexpected gain Ms Macaulay disclosed that she was a finial year Engineering student at Fourah Bay College (FBC). She said, “I’m going to save it as I was not expecting it.”
Housewife Nafisatu Mansaray said she was going to use her wining to educate her children.
