The Lawn Tennis Association will today start a national competition at the national stadium in Freetown. Speaking to Awoko Sports about th competition the national coach of the association, Jimmy Wright, said the competition was for junior and senior Players countrywide. And the reason why they had decided to have such a competition during this period he said, was because for the past three to four years they had not been able to host an national competitions. He mentioned that this competition would also expand and develop the discipline, adding that each player would be able to play two games per day and that the junior competition would take four days while the senior competition would last for a week.
Coach Jimmy mentioned that the competition would also be used to rank the players as they had many international competitions ahead, so if they requested for ranking they would be able to know the players who would represent Sierra Leone in the different categories. He said for the junior competition they had U-12 to U-18 and that in the senior category they had men and women open
