The Lawyers Centre for Legal Assistance (LAWCLA) has appointed Francess Comfort Kadie Issa as Director following a call for applications and extensive interviews by the Board of Trustees for LAWCLA.
Francess Issa hails from Kono District Eastern Sierra Leone she holds a Masters Degree in International Human Right Law from the University of Notre Damn in the United States of America, a Bachelors Degree in Law with Honours (LLB) from Fourah Bay College University of Sierra Leone and a Barrister at Law Degree (BL) from the Law School of Sierra Leone.
Prior to her appointment as Director Francess Issa worked as Legal Consultant and Law fellow for Global Justice Centre in New York United States of America, Research Assistant for the Centre for Civil and Human Rights.
She was Legal Assistant for the Kallon Defence Team at the Special Court for Sierra Leone and also pupil Barrister in the Law Firm of Marcus Jones and Co in Freetown.
She is expected take office on the 1st May 2010.
