The chief administrator of the Kono District Council has officially handed over responsibility to her deputy.In her keynote address Mrs Alice Tortor, the ex-administrator, congratulated the people for working with her at a time when the local government ministry was trying to reinstate local government and the full participation of the people in governance at local level.The ex-administrator explained that her assignment lasted for a year but an extension of one year was given her to enable her complete her work.
Responding the deputy chief administrator, Sahr Tamba, thanked Mrs Torto for her hard work and promised to meet her anytime he needed assistance as “Mrs Torto is not only a boss but a mother to me.” He also promised to work amicably with the remaining staff and that he would ensure he consult them at anytime the need arose.
He praised Mrs Torto for her dedication to work, stating that her short stay in the council as chief administrator had clearly shown how capable and competent she was in the field of administration
