Youths belonging to different political parties in Kenema embraced each other and danced along the Streets in their campaign to preach tolerance and everlasting peace.
The rally was organized by a group known as “Political parties’ youth united against violence” as part of their non violence campaign in Kailahun Town in the Kailahun District.
Earlier on the group organized a workshop on Thursday 13th August 2009 at the Conference hall at the National Pastoral Centre.
The workshop attracted participants from the PMDC, NDA, SLPP and the APC parties.
The facilitators at the workshop lectured participants on non violence and political tolerance.
On Friday participants of the workshop stormed Kenema city with their various T shirts bearing their party colours and symbols.
Jubilant youths who assembled in front of the Capital cinema hall along processed to the Kenema city football field for comic football matches between the political parties.
The Deputy Mayor of Kenema City Council Mrs. Margaret Adama Siaka took the kick off.
After the full 90 minutes play under heavy downpour of rain the march ended 2-1 in favour of APC, NDA combined.
The youth groups also attended a get together party at the Rendezvous Club along Mahei Vangahun Road.
