Police in the Eastern regional headquarter town of Kenema have launched a raid on suspected criminals. The raid, which affected Dogo barracks, Lambaya Avenue and the Kenema agriculture show field, rounded up thirty-seven suspects; nine of whom have now been charged to court and twenty-eight remanded in the state prison.
Speaking to the local unit commander Vincent Nabieu of the Kenema division he explained that the police received a report from Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Augustine Berewa who reported that thieves have broken into and entered the Holy Trinity Parish Hall and swept away all the properties worth millions of leones.
Working on a tip off the police succeeded in recovering one sharp television, three amplifiers, three remote controls, one multi choice decoder, one six battery tape, one red and black generator and one red flash light and assorted cassettes all believed to be the properties of the mission.
The prime suspect Aiah Comba is said to be on the run.
The Local Unit Commander (LUC) pointed out that they, as police will not relent in their operation in ensuring that the citizens enjoy a peaceful night always.
