The Centre for Encouraging Caring and Supporting HIV People (CECSHIP), in collaboration with Gold Ireland, on Saturday undertook the exhibition of condoms in Kenema city as part of this year’s Global HIV/AIDS Week Action (GAWA). Scores of them were on the streets of Kenema, dressed in white t-shirts with HIV messages printed on them, distributing condoms. Speaking to Awoko at the NP Filling Station along Hangha Road at the city centre the National Director of CECSHIP, George Massaquoi, said they decided to undertake the condom distribution to kick out the stigma.
He emphasized that the exercise was also geared towards sensitizing the general populace about the existence of HIV and AIDS and gender based Violence. Mr Massaquoi told Awoko that for the past weeks they had been sensitizing people living with HIV, orphans and vulnerable children in the Kenema city and its environs.
