The criminal session of the Kenema High Court officially opened on Tuesday with two cases listed before Justice Nyawo Maturi-Jones.
A soldier in the Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF), Santique Kamara, was docked before her for murder. According to the indictment, Kamara was on 16th November 2003 at Kailahun town in Luawa chiefdom in Kailahun district murdered SLA 1110-2002 second Lieutenant Conteh S. and SLA 2843-200 Private Kamara S.
The accused person pleaded not guilty to the charge. The case is being prosecuted by senior state counsel Timothy P.M. Sowa while the accused person was unrepresented.
In the same High Court Bashiru Conteh and Mahawa Kargbo were docked on a two-count charge for shop breaking and larceny.
According to the particulars of offence both accused persons were on 10th April 2007 broke and entered the shop of Edujuka Ogberi and stole 387 pairs of slippers valued at 13million, nine hundred and twenty Leones. Both matters come up today
