Activities of the Kenema District Council (KDC) are coming to a stand still due to lack of money.
This was disclosed to the press by the Chief Administrator of the Kenema District Council Chalie Kallon.
Mr. Kallon says the council has not received any central government grant in the last six months making things difficult for its operations.
He says administrative grants and development funds for agriculture, health, education and other grants have not been issued since the end of the first financial quarter in March this year making it difficult for the council to perform its functions.
Mr. Kallon maintained that the newly recruited staff of the council have not been paid since the start of their appointment in May this year. He called on the decentralization secretariat to look into the matter to see that the council is free from it difficulties.
