Grant in aid students at the Eastern Polytechnic college in Kenema are voicing their concern against the college decision to with hold the promotional result for continuing student and transcript for final year students because government has failed to pay their fees.
Speaking to the press the Eastern Polytechnic Student Union President Michael Kulanda says the decision came to them as a big surprise and the decision has particularly affected the final year students because they won’t be able to get any jobs without the academic document.
He blamed the college administration for informing them at the eleventh hour, which he said is not in their interest, adding that the Student Union would have made representations to the government long ago if they were informed before now.
Mr. Kulanda says he is the process of meeting with the National Union of Sierra Leone Student (NUSS) so that they can involve constituent colleges to engage the government for peaceful resolution before it is too late for them.
