The new Local Unit Commander of the Kenema Police Division Amadu Mannah has informed the general public that the Sierra Leone police is a Force for good due to their performance and will perform better if there is cooperation from members of the public.
He disclosed that he intends to bring the Press, the community, civil society and other stakeholders together in order to change the Police Partnership Board and improve community policing.
LUC Mannah intimated his audience that the police rely on the members of the public to give them intelligence reports especially on related crime issues adding that the public should collaborate with the police in order to curb crime in the entire district.
He described recent armed robberies in Kenema city as an unfortunate event and assured the Kenema community that regular police patrol teams have been set up to do night patrols in order to address the ugly situation.
The police boss maintained that crime rate like burglary and larceny have drastically reduced and called on the general public to call on the police hot line on Zain 078374011 and on Africel 903 whenever they notice any unusual activities in their communities.LUC Mannah added that the Comium line will soon be activated and announced to the public.
