The School for the Blind in Kenema city, eastern Sierra Leone, is calling for help to upgrade its facilities. In an interview with Awoko, the school’s project public affairs officer, Francis Makieu, says the school lacks accommodation and adequate learning materials. Another area where, he notes, they also need help is that of trained teachers in the education for the blind. Mr Makieu states that they intend approaching the ministry of education science and technology’s office in Kenema so that they will start benefiting from government’s subvention.
