The Kenema district elections officer, Augusta Bockarie, has told Awoko that all the sealed envelops in the 174 centres in the Kenema had been sent to NEC’s Freetown office.
She disclosed that NEC office in Kenema experienced a lot of difficulties during the election process in terms of transportation.
“We started delivering election materials two days before polling day.
Although we succeeded in delivering all materials in time, yet we encountered some problems in doing so,” she noted.
In some places NEC officials together with the police had to walk with the voting materials for about ten and more miles to their destinations.
In places like Gorama mende, Koya, Simbaru and Langurama chiefdoms bridges were over flooded, dug out canoes had to be used.
It was also similar problems in retrieving the materials from the polling stations.
