Kambia, SIERRA LEONE – In an emergency meeting convened at the Kambia District Council, Chairman Mr. Mohamed Masarico Mansaray, Councilors, and Paramount Chief Councilors expressed their collective dissatisfaction and condemnation of the recent attempted coup in the country.
Chairman Mansaray, leading the discussion, voiced his concerns about the current state of affairs and moved a motion for the council to adopt an official resolution condemning the attempted coup. Paramount Chief Alhaji Alusine Sankoh Yillah of Gbileh chiefdom endorsed the motion, stating, “In regard to the attempted coup, I want to move the motion that this council adopt an official resolution of condemnation to the event.”
Following the chairman’s condemnation, councilors unanimously echoed their condemnation of the failed attempted coup. They collectively called upon the Government of Sierra Leone to actively pursue the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
Chairman Mansaray also announced that Chief Administrator Edward Alpha would address the public through a press conference to reiterate the council’s strong condemnation of the attempted coup. The Kambia District Council stands united in denouncing any act that threatens the peace and stability of the nation, emphasizing the need for swift and decisive action against those responsible for the attempted coup.
