The Paramount Chief Representative of Nongowa chiefdom in the Kenema district, Chief Amara Gbow, who is the Senior inspector of chief of Koniakpedima village, formally presented Pa Bockarie Kanneh as the new section speaker of Gbokakajama section in the Nongowa chiefdom to the chiefs and authorities of Gbo section in a ceremony held at the section chief compound at 4 Circular road in Kenema city.
In his presentation ,Chief Gbow called on all the town chiefs, quarters heads and tribal heads to work directly with their new chief, chief Bockarie Kanneh for the development of not only Gbo section but also the entire city of Kenema.
He also called on Kanneh to work with his colleague’s chiefs, the paramount chief Alhaji Bonya Vangahun IV and other authorities of the city for the development of Nongowa chiefdom as a whole.
In his maiden speech, the new section speaker of Gbokakajama Chief Bockarie Kanneh thanked all his colleague chiefs, tribal heads and other authorities present for gracing the ceremony and promised to work for all and sundry in the Nongowa chiefdom for development.
He added that chieftaincy is God’s will and that he “is for everybody not for an individual” and that his door is always open to everyone who may seek for his assistance.
The representative of the Resident Minister East, Abdul Karim Karifa, called on the people to work hand in glove with the new chief and to respect authority. He appealed to the chief to embrace everyone, as he is there to serve all in the interest of peace and development.
