Kamboi Eagles plunged a knife deep down into the hearts of FC Kallon through a lone goal defeat at the ongoing Premier League played at the National Stadium past Friday.
Had Kallon won the match they would have wrapped up the title.
However, Kamboi Eagles proved that they are the giant killers in the league, having defeated Ports Authority, Mighty Blackpool, and East End Lions to demonstrate that they are not a push over as many had thought.
The lone goal was scored by Suleiman Kamara aka “Bad Left” in the second half of play that sent shivers through the spines of FC Kallon officials and players who were preparing to celebrate the second Premier League crown.
With that victory, Kamboi Eagles had moved into 5th position with 31 points from 21 matches played.
They have five more matches to be played and trainer Ibrahim Allie Bao had proclaimed that victory is assured in all the remaining matches.
Despite the defeat FC Kallon still maintain their title chase having secured 50 points from 23 matches and they have got three more matches. They would engage Golden Dragon from Magburaka at the Teko Barracks in Makeni on Wednesday.
The match promises to be a thriller as the host is currently facing relegation as they could only boast of 17 points from 22 matches with four to go.
Today at the Bo Coronation Ground, Mighty Blackpool, currently in 4th position will be host to Bo Rangers, whose encounter with Central Parade ended in fiasco.
Reports from Bo indicated that the host had a penalty kick awarded to them but spectators of Central Parade rushed into the field to question the referees decision which eventually paved the way for its abandonment.
Another thriller is set for Thursday as Mighty Blackpool takes on Port Authority in what has been dubbed as “East versus West”.
