It was a glorious scene yesterday when the African football icon Kalusha Bwalya and President of the Zambian Football Association (ZFA) who was dressed in a blue European suit practically beamed with smiles all over his face as he inspected the 260 million leones renovated National Stadium.
By all indication Kalusha whose country’s national Stadium had also been banned by FIFA, but who as President of the ZFA worked hard to get the ban lifted before he travelled to Sierra Leone was obviously in a happy mood as he was taken around the national stadium to inspect the facilities which have now been upgraded to international standards.
Before he started the inspection there was a closed door meeting with the Ministers of Education Youth and Sports, Sports Council officials, SLFA executive, and the security forces. Kalusha also signed some documents before started the inspection work.
After the inspection he answered questions from journalists only on African football but no question on the inspection was asked.
Kalusha is expected to present his findings to FIFA during the coming days before the final decision will be taken on the renovation work if the ban is lifted or not.
