Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – Kahunla Rangers FC, one of the newly promoted sides, clinched their first point in the ongoing Leone Rock Premier League by holding Real Republicans FC to a goalless draw at the Trade Centre field on Friday, November 17, 2023.
During the initial minutes, Real Republicans FC launched an offensive, seeking an early goal advantage. However, Kahunla Rangers FC thwarted their attempts. Captain Ibrahim Sorie Marrah had a chance outside the 18-yard box, but the score remained level.
In the first half, Michael Brima and the Real Republican FC goalkeeper engaged in a tense battle, resulting in a goalless draw at halftime. The second half saw both teams striving for a win, with Real Republicans winger Dennis Kamara missing crucial chances.
In the 57th minute, Ibrahim Sorie Kamara suffered a head injury and was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment. Despite multiple opportunities, including hitting the woodwork in the 86th minute by Mohamed Fabi Bangura of Kahunla Rangers FC, the match concluded with a goalless draw.
The man of the match award went to the injured Ibrahim Sorie Marrah, with Kahunla Rangers FC’s head coach, Ishmael Kallon, receiving the award on his behalf. Defending champions Bo Rangers FC secured six points in two matches, defeating Ports Authority 3-1 at Attouga Mini Stadium. BT/19/11/2023
