The aftermath of the confrontation between SLPP and PMDC supporters over the weekend in Kailahun town, which left both parties’ offices ruined, is a threat from president Kabbah to prosecute those responsible for wrecking havoc on his party office there.
He described the act as barbaric.
The president, who was on his way to Kangama in the Kissi Teng Chiefdom to sympathize with the family of the late PC Tamba Ganawa, made a stopover in Kailahun to assess damages done to the SLPP’s office and the house of the chiefdom speaker.
Briefing president Kabbah on the political fracas the Local Unit Commander (LUC), Kariefa Keitta, revealed that when he visited the scene stones were still coming from all angles.
But he disclosed that he was however able to deploy his men around to put the situation under control.
Meanwhile, many people in Kailahun remain apprehensive as Kailahun is notorious for election violence.
