Theo Williams, proprietor, publisher and editor of the Globe Newspaper has said journalism has got principles.
Speaking to journalists over the week end at SLENA about his re-establishing of the Globe Newspaper in Sierra Leone, he told journalists that the destiny of the country was in their hands stating that journalism has got principles, objectivity, sincerity and fairness.
He cautioned that the fourth estate was the back bone of the nation and without them, a lot of things would have happened.
Giving a brief history of his newspaper and the way journalism was practiced in the 70s, he said during those period journalism was hard to practice as it was a hit and run publication but despite the repression and the lack of technology, journalism was kept on.
The Globe is the only Sierra Leonean owned Newspaper in the UK he said and he intends to appoint a bureau chief and a small number of reporters to complement their counterparts in the UK.
