Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – In an exciting development, the renowned Jog for Jesus Marathon, traditionally held in Freetown, has expanded its reach to Sierra Leone’s second city, Bo. The inaugural edition of the marathon will take place today, Saturday, December 9th, 2023. Organized by the Sport Life International Bo branch, this event marks a significant milestone for the people of Bo.
Chief Coordinator Ibrahim Okon Koroma expressed his enthusiasm for bringing Jog for Jesus to Bo for the first time. He highlighted the anticipation among Bo residents, who are eager to participate in this event aimed at spreading the message of Jesus. The organizers are expecting a turnout of over 500 Sierra Leoneans, all united in their desire to embrace Jesus’ teachings and positively impact the city of Bo and the nation as a whole.
Initially, the plan was to hold the Jog for Jesus marathon in Freetown, with participants from the western region starting at Collegiate School and those from the eastern part commencing at Annie Walsh, culminating at St. Edwards Secondary School in Kingtom. However, due to the prevailing situation in the city, Koroma announced that the Freetown event scheduled for today, Saturday, December 9th, 2023, has been postponed to a later date, which will be communicated in due course.
Consequently, all individuals who were looking forward to participating in the Jog for Jesus marathon are encouraged to redirect their efforts to Bo. By joining fellow Sierra Leoneans in Bo, they can collectively make the Jog for Jesus a resounding success, fostering unity and spiritual growth within the community.
The Jog for Jesus Marathon’s expansion to Bo signifies a significant step forward in spreading the message of faith and goodwill throughout Sierra Leone. This historic event promises to leave a lasting impact on the people of Bo and beyond. BT/9/12/2023
