The President of Sierra Leone and flag bearer of the All Peoples Congress Ernest Bai Koroma on Friday 26th October told the people of Bo that he has “done for Bo more than any other person.” And for that he said “the people of Bo have come out today to see me.” He added that the day “has made it very clear about the presence of APC in Bo” as the people came out on the street in their hundreds to see him on the formal launching of his campaigns in Bo.
“What my government has done in the past five years is evident in Bo. And therefore let the past government prove to me that what they have done for Bo is greater than what we have done in the past 5 years.” He then went on to highlight his accomplishments. Starting with the re-construction of the five new roads, Dambala, Tikonko, Fenton, Prince Williams Street and Bojohn Street, he said that “Bo have once again coveted its 1960s nickname ‘Bo Kotaya’.” He also mentioned Agriculture in Bo to have boomed with his government’s provision of agricultural centres in each chiefdom, and also with the provision of seeds to most farmers.
Jumping on Health, he stated that despite his Free Health Care Initiative, the “Bo government (hospital) has been improved more than at any other time.” This he further explained has not only reduced the infant death rate in the district but also improved on the general health sector of the people of Bo.
He accepted that there were many sectors that needed attention but that his government was going after things that were of high dividend to both the people of Bo and Sierra Leone as a whole. “I agree everywhere needs attention but we will concentrate on areas that will bring more impact in the country and on the lives of Sierra Leoneans.”
He therefore implored the people of Bo to resist “subjectivity in voting.” What his government has done for Bo he bragged was “so clear and so visible” such that the people of Bo need to adopt an “objective mind.” His land marks in Bo he said was physical such that he has no need to go after convincing “a neutral mindset.”
In addition he remarked to the people of Bo that in 1946 the people of Sierra Leone gathered in Bo to establish Sierra Leone and that their agreement was that “this nation must be founded on Unity Freedom and Justice.” Therefore, he put into the minds of all that “Sierra Leone will only prosper under Unity, Freedom and Justice.”
