They are no exceptions to the day-to-day financial struggle often faced by students; but nevertheless the Iris Social Club of the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM) has gathered their widows’ mite to support the visually impaired.
Yesterday, a cross-section of this fraternity donated an appreciable amount of food items to the Milton Margai School for the Blind.
Iris Vice President, Haja Fanta Jalloh disclosed that the club is a philanthropist one which seeks to help the vulnerable and less-privileged.
She confined to Awoko that the Club normally raise funds through fund-raising activities which in turn would be used for any identified beneficiary, which the Club members have unanimously selected. Haja intimated that the Club has been donating items to vulnerable people for a decade and half and this year’s donation is worth about Le1million.
No doubt, chill will run down the spin of even the most concrete heart, when a visually impaired kid expressed gratitude and appreciation for the gift given to them by a group of beautiful damsels.
