The Project Supervisor for Integrated Rural Agricultural and Community Development (IRACORD), Umaru Gabaji, has disclosed his project’s developmental activities in Moyamba District, Southern Region.
Speaking to the press in Kenema City, he said the organization has established its branch office in Bo City Southern region and operating in two Chiefdoms in Moyamba District.
He said IRACORD is presently implementing the Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) project in hundreds of communities in Lower Bambara Chiefdom in Kenema District. Umaru Gabaji said as a project, they have verified fifty communities and that forty of the communities have attained Open Defecation Free (ODF) status. The Project Supervisor further said that with the support of the two Paramount Chiefs: Nyama Russell and Tom James have been able to implement the CLTS project fully. He assured the donors and government that they will continue to complement government’s efforts in the health sector, saying: “health is wealth”.
