The Director (Dean of campus) of the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), Dr Claudius Bert Williams has rejected a directorship at the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank (SLCB).
The IPAM Director has been appointed by President Ernest Bai Koroma to serve as one of the directors at SLCB but he told Awoko yesterday in an interview that “I have already written to the President that I will not be taking the job as I am already serving as a Director at another Bank” He said even if he had to accept the job and was not serving as director of another Bank that would have affected his job at IPAM.
The Peoples Movement for Democratic Change Secretary General, Ansu Lansana is also among those appointed by the President to serve as one of the directors. Asked whether negotiations between him and the university authorities concerning his letter of resignation as director of IPAM, Dr Bert Williams disclosed that negotiations have nearly completed “as you can see I am already working and in my office”
Students at IPAM had demonstrated against the resignation of Dr Bert Williams and at a meeting with the students, the director told them that talks were ongoing between him and the university authorities.
