A Non Governmental Organization known as International Rescue Committee (IRC) has organized a second phase training workshop on business skills for some youths in Kenema city at the Ministry of Youth and Sports office Ha for Do Park in Kenema city.
In his welcome address the IRC Youth livelihood officer Kenema branch Andrew Sellu disclosed that the youth working project is a new project funded by the United Nations Development for Population (UNDP) through the government of Sierra Leone and the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports. He said it is a new initiative program in Sierra Leone to meaningfully engage the youths and train them on business skills.
Mr. Sellu further disclosed that the IRC wants to train them so that they can engage themselves in Small business skills and to interact with bigger business partners in their various communities. Sellu also explained that it is a pilot project catering for 100 youths in Kenema city and Freetown.
He said at the end of the five days training session participants will undertake a market survey in the city so that they would be able to identify ways and means to solve problems in business.
