The Western Area Inter Secondary School competition (inter-Sec), which started yesterday at the National Stadium, has taken momentum as both senior and junior secondary schools are making impacts in the competition.
The first event was the hurdles. Out of 44 schools, only eight schools qualified for each categories for the finals tomorrow.
The five thousand metres final for senior boys was a win for Forah Marah of Government Rokel Secondary School with a time of 16;33;57. In second position was Augustine S Momoh of Ahmadiyya with a time of 16;33;75 and in third position was Mohamed S Sesay of BJMS with a time of 16;36;92
The other final event that was completed was the junior girls’ long Jump which was a win for Balu Sesay of Murray Town Army Secondary Junior School in second position was Kai Sesay of St Anthony Junior School. The meeting was opened by the deputy minister of sports, Dr Algassium Jah.
The competition continues today.
